because we care ...

The 2019 year

During the course of 2019, Women and beyond has been able to initiate and fulfill many projects and events such as the very successful Annual road show which took place during the month of June. Our volunteers have visited a total of 500 schools in four provinces (Western cape, Free State, Gauteng and Northern Cape) offering their time and resources towards motivational talks, facilitating counseling services and organizing food, clothing and toiletry parcels.

We have reached out to schools in many farms, informal and rural settlements in about seven provinces (Western Cape, Free State, Northern Cape, Gauteng, Eastern Cape, North West and Mpumalanga) through our partnership with Intercape Buses who have assisted in the transportation of equipment and goods (flyers, t-shirts, banners, posters, etc), thousands of stationery, food parcels and clothes.

Through the partnership with Surve’ Philanthropies, we have been able to run a successful Road show during the month of June which allowed us to visit many communities in the aforementioned seven provinces. Through this project we were able to send volunteers who visited schools, settlements and families who we have been in contact with throughout the years, rendering motivational and awareness talks, counseling services, food parcels, etc. Throughout the course of the 2018-2019 period, we have received rental funding from Surve’ Philanthropies which allowed our offices to be fully operational. Through their generous contribution towards our monthly office rentals, we were able to have an office space where we facilitated administrative duties, held volunteer workshops, facilitated counseling services and the office space functioned as a donation drop-off area.

We also received a full venue sponsorship from Women 4 Women, who partnered with us financially to host the launch of Poverty Alleviation South Africa (an organizational subsidiary of Women and Beyond)[ a Women and Beyond subsidiary organization]. Their sponsorship covered the venue costs and catering.

For our Annual National Volunteer recruitment and training program that took place on the 7th to the 18th of December. We have received donations and sponsorships from Audi (Cape Town), Intercape Buses, and donations from individuals in their personal capacity. Through the partnership with the aforementioned sponsors, the project was successful and our volunteers were able to reach towns and cities where training workshops took place for our new head-volunteers for 2020.

During the course of the late-2018 to 2019 year, we had partnered with the Shoprite/Checkers Company and Pick n Pay Boy de Geode Circle branch (through grocery vouchers).Through their contribution, we have been able to create food parcels, toiletry parcels and facilitate soup kitchens
